6.1. See it before doing it. The night before or this same morning or even just few minutes before starting doing something, imagine yourself doing the action you are going to do. Make it real adding not only images but sound or voices, etc. You can add a feeling of satisfaction by organising the activity in such a way that it is easier to do it, maybe with rests, or by doing another activity at intervals. Think how to adjust the activity you are going to do to make fit the way you are, the way you do things.
It is not compulsory to do this step. This step is advisable when you feel "lazy" to do it or maybe you think it is boring, difficult or hard and that is why you procrastinate it. Many times it happens that we don't feel like doing something, but at the moment you start, you realise it was very easy and you could have done it a long time ago. Get that feelilng by thinking about it before doing it.

6.2. Change your thought to change your action. Sometimes when thinking about doing something, you might feel fear, lack of confidence, stress, etc. You might think it is more difficult than what it is in reality or you might think that it is "impossible". Change your attitude by questioning these thoughts, challenging them and changing them by other thoughts that are more positive and real. Thoughts that encourage you to do something. For example: "I don't want to start doing it because I am not happy doing it badly" --> "I am going to do it first anyhow and later I will improve it".
There are different type of thoughts that can "paralyse" you doing something. They demotivate you in such a way that you might not start doing it and when you start you wonder why you did not do it before. Imagine you have to write something but you want to do something good. You might waste time and energy thinking about it, while the best thing to do is to start writing anything that comes from your mind, whatsoever thoughts without any quality at all... and then, after having written something, always it will be easier to change things, to improve things, to remove things, to work on it than expecting to do it right since the begining.

6.3. Reflect on your actions. When you start implementing an step of the idea, you could find challenges or even new opportunities. This is a special time to think about your action.
Think about any action or step you have done:
What was the situation like? What was I thinking? What was I feeling? What did I do? Did it work? Yes? No? Why? What else could I do? |
